Drama Department Ethos

The drama department has adhered to establish itself as a part of Ursuline High School and work in unison with the schools ethos and values.

Further the drama department believes it works in a collaborative way with its students and will offer and continue to offer a multiplicity of different ideas, concepts , conventions and forms in drama without bias.

Students will be encouraged to develop reflective, collaborative and creative skills in a trusting, caring and creative environment.

Drama is empowering ‘The decision to be an artist is one which embraces risks.’ (Lynn Macrithie) and works on many levels ‘Drama is no longer considered simply a branch of art education, but as a unique teaching tool, vital for language development and invaluable as a method of exploration of other subject areas’.
